Revspace party

It was last night. And in a new den. The party was a New Year’s party and also the official opening of Revelation Space, Den Haag ~ also servicing Zoetermeer, Delft, Voorburg, Rijswijk and the rest of the world.

Everything is there. Labs, space, and lots of humor, creativity and engineering approaches. Even boozing is approached the geeky way: Hand-drawn drink recipes like schematics to some circuitry system.

As for connections, Patrice and Koen were a joy to hang out with, as always. Relaxed. No crowding. Joyful.

I haven’t kept up to date with my old area embedded systems, but it sure was fun meeting some new people discussing old Digital consoles (of which one stood in the space) and CAN-bus. Controller–area network (CAN or CAN-bus) is a vehicle bus designed to allow microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other within a vehicle without a host computer. Expressions of excellent communication! Fitting non-centralised models of operation. 😉

I also met experienced potential allies for co-founding a hackerspace in Amsterdam. And maybe, just maybe, we will. We’ll see what develops. For me it depends on if and when I find enough business customers, and how I balance that with zwarte zwadderneel’s life. For sure I’ll be visiting revspace again.

You can find status updates on revspace on twitter and identi.ca. And more on hackerspaces on the Hackerspace Wiki and Revelation space wiki

Thank you all, for a great party!
